Our app is currently available for iOS9+ (iPhone 5S and newer models) and Android 4.1+. Turn on your GPS to find nearby E-Scooters on your map and grant the app location permissions. You must have both GPS and Bluetooth enabled in order to lock and unlock e-scooters.

Using Briz
How can I find e-scooters?

Launch the app and check for available e-scooters on the map. Once you select a vehicle the map will give you directions to its location. Alternatively, you can just pick any vehicle you see on the street and scan its QR code to unlock it.

Unlocking

Once you find an e-scooter on the map you can unlock it by either scanning the QR code or typing in the plate number. Tapping the flashlight icon will turn on the flashlight if the QR code scanner is having trouble reading the code in low light.

Adjusting and Starting

First, kick off and build up some speed. When you’re moving under your own power you can accelerate by depressing the throttle near your right thumb. Get comfortable at low speeds first and squeeze the brake to slow down when necessary.

Ride

Keep both feet on the E-Scooter while riding. Ride in bike lanes where available, do not ride on sidewalks. You can push the brake button with your left thumb to slow down if needed.

Parking

To keep yourself and others safe, please ensure that you park in designated areas. Scooter parking areas are available in some cities; otherwise, please check the in-app map for places to park. This makes it easier for other riders to find the scooter later. Be considerate of others and don’t park too far away from accessible pedestrian walkways. Additionally, be careful not to park in no-parking zones, including wheelchair ramps, blocking streets or sidewalks, hospital entrances, fire stations, gated communities, and locations with no phone service, among others.

Unlocking More Than One Vehicle

Only one vehicle per account can be unlocked at a time, and the rider whose account is used to unlock the vehicle must be the only person who rides it. Any damage caused by third-party riders will be attributed to the account-holder.

Pausing your Ride

You can temporarily stop your ride, keeping your vehicle reserved until you want to resume your trip. The per-minute charge will continue to accumulate while the e- scooter is paused.
Tapping “End Ride” will stop the per-minute charges, and will make the vehicle available to other users. If you do not end the ride, the charges will continue, so make sure you end it once you are done!

Stop for more than 10 minutes

During your ride, if the E-Scooter is not moving for more than 10 minutes, the motor will turn off automatically. Please click the “Continue to Ride” button in the app to unlock and continue your rides.

End Ride

End your ride by clicking “Lock” in the app. Confirm that you have parked within the operating area. If you do not park within the operating area, you will be fined.
Tapping “End Ride” will stop the per-minute charges, and will make the vehicle available to other users. If you do not end the ride, the charges will continue, so make sure you end it once you are done!

Operating area

Please check the map to see the operating area in your city. You can start and end your ride wherever you want within the operating area in the same region displayed without any surcharges. During your ride, you can leave the operating area. Just make sure you finish your ride in the operating area. Please make sure you park your E-Scooter properly. If you park your E-Scooter outside the operating area, retrieval service charges may incur for you.

Operating hours

BRiZ scooters will be available every day from 4 a.m. until 9 p.m. Because scooters need to be recharged on a nightly basis and ours are designed to not have swappable batteries, our operations team and chargers team will be responsible for removing dead-battery scooters from the streets and redeploying them the following morning.

Payments & Pricing
How much does it cost to ride BRiZ?

The basic fee for each e-scooter rental is $1 to unlock an e-scooter, plus from 0.15 to 0.25 cents per minute of riding (depends on the country of BRiZ operation).
Additional fee for returning an e-scooter outside an operating area may be charged (check our Pricing Policy).
Unlocking the vehicle incurs a fixed charge, followed by a per-minute charge for the duration of your trip.
Please check our Pricing Policy or the app to find up-to-date pricing information (visible when you select a scooter from the map) as different cities and regions may have different rates and promotions.

Payment methods

Currently, you can pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard), PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We currently support Apple Pay and Google Pay in Switzerland. More countries to come in the future. Regardless of which payment method you use, we will charge $1 to verify the account. Of course, this $1 will be refunded immediately. We will only charge any further amounts after completing a ride.

Adding a Payment Method

Adding a payment method to your account makes it easy to pay for your rides. You can choose to either pay per ride, in which case your card will be charged after each ride, or deposit credit into a wallet, which will be automatically deducted as needed.

Pre-Authorization

The app may charge a small amount to your card at the beginning of your ride as a pre- authorization. If you do not have sufficient funds in your wallet, the app will automatically use your card to pay for the ride. This pre-authorization charge will be refunded after a successful payment.

What if I’m charged incorrectly?

Our payment service provider may charge a small amount to your card as a security and authorization measure, but this will be refunded after each ride.
If your credit card or bank account is showing an unknown charge, please get in touch with your bank and initiate a support request with us. We will then look into your claim and adjust the charge accordingly.

Safety
Checking your vehicle for safety

Before unlocking your e-scooter, check it over for damage. If there are wires coming out or other obvious damage, let us know through the app and find a different vehicle to use.

Is there an age limit?

Every region, country and city will have different age restrictions, but we advise that only people 21 years or older drive the vehicles.

Is a driver’s license necessary?

No, a driver’s license is not legally required for e-scooter operation.

Is a helmet necessary?

For your safety, you should always wear a helmet while riding our scooters.

Helmet Laws

Every region, country, and city has its own laws about helmets. Using safety equipment like helmets does not completely protect you from injury, but we suggest you always wear them in order to minimize risk. Some regions legally require riders to wear helmets, so check local regulations and use safety gear accordingly. If you are injured while riding without a helmet, we do not bear responsibility for your choice to take this risk.

Safe driving

Driving as carefully and safely as possible should be your top priority while on one of our scooters, meaning you should obey all traffic laws and use your best judgment when riding.

What if I have an accident?

If there is an accident and need medical help, contact your local emergency services for assistance.

  • If you are injured, please stay at the location where the accident took place.
  • If you are not injured, find a safe area nearby to move to.

Technical Issues
I’m still being charged even after locking the vehicle.

If your vehicle is charging you after being locked:

  • Double-check the lock on the vehicle and ensure that it’s closed—you should hear a confirmation sound when it’s properly locked.
  • The ride may take up to one minute to finish processing even after the vehicle is locked.
  • Does your phone have a strong data or Wi-Fi signal? If not, this may cause issues.
  • Close and restart the app, then check if the issue persists.
If you’ve tried all of the above steps and the issue is ongoing, contact our customer service department. We will investigate and refund the charges.

I can’t see the map

Make sure that GPS is enabled in your phone’s settings.

Emergency

Contact your local emergency services number if you need medical or police assistance.

My vehicle broke down

Stop riding the vehicle right away if it begins experiencing any problems that might cause you injury or stop you from making it to your destination. Please report this issue to our customer support team and leave the vehicle where it is. This ride will be free of charge.

The vehicle displayed on the map is missing

Poor phone reception can cause issues when trying to find a vehicle. If you can’t find the vehicle, make sure you have good reception and that you’ve checked all possible parking spots in the area—it might be behind a vehicle or a building. If the vehicle is impossible to locate, please notify us through the app’s “Report Missing” feature and select a different nearby vehicle.

I’m having trouble unlocking an e- scooter

First, please check if your network is well connected. If the E-Scooter does not unlock on the first try, please close the app, restart and try again. You should be able to unlock any vehicle by scanning its QR code or entering its plate number. If there isn’t enough light to read the QR code you can always enter the number or press the flashlight button to light up the code for your camera.

About Us
BRiZ Company

BRiZ is a mobility company. Our goal is to sustainably reshape current mobility solutions by offering new means of transportation. We want to incentivize the usage of e-scooters for the last mile commuting, reducing CO2 emission, discovering the city or just having a fun time. We are committed to providing you with an easy, healthy, convenient, reliable, and environmentally friendly way to travel by combining an advanced idea with self-developed IoT (Internet of Things) technology.

BRiZ App

BRiZ App is a smart dock-less mobility platform. We offer app-based micro-mobility solutions, like dockless scooters that you can use whenever you need to take a quick trip. Just open the app, locate a scooter, scan the QR code, and start riding! We mostly focus on dockless scooters to help people move that last mile between public transit and home, or just over short distances where transit is impractical and walking too slow. Sharing e-scooters means you can use the vehicles without needing to worry about maintenance or theft, cities can save money on running transportation systems, and the urban environment will have a smaller carbon footprint and a healthier population. Our goal is to improve the cities we live in by promoting a simple, sustainable mode of transportation and building up a responsible, cooperative community of users.

BRiZ Support

Our customer service support is accessible on a 24/7 basis. Anyone can email us at hello@briz.app Our field operations teams run 24 hours per day

What is this?

Our smart dockless micro-mobility program runs on dock-free electric scooters (“e- scooters”) that people can temporarily rent for short trips in towns and cities. We’re using the Internet of Things to provide a convenient, simple, healthy, steady, and green means of transportation. Users don’t need to carry keys, pay in cash, show ID cards, or make deposits: they can just scan their ride on their app and ride off in seconds.

Why use our e-scooters?

We are primarily focused on creating innovative mobility solutions, with our main goal being to introduce new means of transportation to people and cities that need them. Our e- scooters are a great way to go that last mile between public transit and end destinations, or they could be used simply for exploring. Our scooters can be found all around the cities we have a presence in and can be comfortably driven between any two points in our operating area. We have a variety of price plans to suit every customer’s needs, and our dedicated customer support team is always ready to deal with any questions or concerns.
