What is my Status to Become a Charger?

Our Charger Onboarding Team is currently processing all sign-ups and will reach out via text message as additional Chargers are needed. Processing times may vary depending on your market/city. Thank for being with us.

How do I Access Charger Mode?

Go to the BRiZ burger button on the top left-hand corner of the app and switch on Charger Mode.

I still haven't received my Power Kit

Please check the email confirming your order has been shipped. Refer to the tracking number included in the email. If it's marked as delivered, but you haven't received the package, please contact your shipping provider.

How many e-scooters can I charge per day?

We encourage that you only capture as many e-scooters you can release with a full charge by the next day between 6 a.m - 7 a.m.

When can I capture e-scooters?

E-scooters are available for capture throughout the day as long as they appear on the Charger Map. To ensure same-day payment processing, your e-scooter should be released the following morning between 4 a.m - 7 a.m, regardless of capture time.

Can I capture e-scooter and release the same day?

E-scooters are available for capture throughout the day as long as they appear on the Charger Map. Regardless of when the e-scooter is captured, we encourage Chargers to hold onto their e-scooters until the following morning by 7 a.m.

How big are e-scooters?

E-scooters weigh 11-15 kilograms.

Do e-scooters Fold?

E-scooters do not fold.

How much does it cost to charge scooters at home fully?

E-scooter typically cost between $0.10 - $0.35 for a full charge, depending on your local electricity rates.

How do payments work?

We process payments via direct deposit same-day for all e-scooters charged and released before 6 a.m - 7 a.m. Any e-scooters released after 7 a.m will take an extra day to process. While we initiate payments same-day, it can take a couple of additional days for the payment to post in your account, depending on your banking institution.

How to Find e-scooters
Charger Mode

Once you are in Charger Mode, new menu options will be available. These options will help you with the charging process. Please only use Charger Mode when you plan to charge.

FIND E-SCOOTERS

When you are ready to capture e-scooters, please enable your Charger Mode to see all available e-scooters for a charge.

Selecting an e-scooter

To view information about a particular e-scooter, you can tap the icon and the icon will expand with more details: (i) Riding Details: Ridden: Time when e-scooter was last ridden; Located: Last time the e-scooter sent location data; Price: How much you can earn if you charge the e-scooter to 100% and properly releasing at a BRiZ Hub by 6 a.m - 7 a.m. (ii) E-scooter Details: The current battery percentage; The first half of the e-scooter ID.

Understanding the e-scooters Location

The e-scooters location on the map represents the last-known GPS location of the e-scooter. Usually, this is where you’ll find the e-scooter. However, there are times when the e-scooter is no longer at the indicated location. The longer it has been since the GPS location data has been updated, the less likely the e-scooter is to be at or near the pin location.

If you’ve arrived at the pin location of an e-scooter and it's not there, go ahead and tap ALARM (with your Bluetooth enabled) and the e-scooters alarm will make a sound. You can use this to guide you to the e-scooters location. If you can’t locate the e-scooter or hear the alarm, please select the MARK MISSING feature in the BRiZ app to inform other Chargers the location is no longer accurate.

BRiZ that cannot be located by the Charger community will be removed from the Charger Map.

Note: Please DO NOT enter any private or public property that you do not have full authorization to enter when hunting for e-scooters.

Navigate to e-scooter

If you need driving instructions to a particular e-scooters pin location, you can select the 'Navigate to e-scooter' (paper airplane) icon. This will prompt you to open your preferred navigation application (such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc.) and direct you to the pin.

How to Capture

Once you find an available e-scooter, you can go ahead and capture it! To capture an e-scooter, scan the e-scooters QR code or click "e-scooter ID" to manually enter the e-scooter ID listed beneath the QR code.

If you come across an e-scooter with no ID or QR code, please refer to I Can't Scan or Find the e-scooter ID.

Your e-scooter has been successfully captured if it displays in MY TASKS!

Important: If you are unable to capture an e-scooter, it is likely not available for Chargers. Please do not put an e-scooter in your vehicle or transport it back for charging unless the e-scooter is captive and in your MY TASKS list.

There are several reasons why an e-scooter cannot be captured: a. The e-scooter is only available for Riders; b. The e-scooter is damaged and waiting to get repaired by a Mechanic. c. E-scooters is offline and can't communicate with our servers

Moving e-scooters without capturing may have a negative impact on your ability to charge and violates the Agreement; such e-scooters may be considered stolen property. BRiZ reserves the right to pursue legal remedies against violators, including working with authorized retrieval teams and law enforcement.

Important, that you only capture e-scooters which you can fully charge and release on time. Please do not capture more e-scooters than you can charge overnight.

To charge an e-scooter, you’ll need a BRiZ supplied Power Cord, and a BRiZ supplied Power Supply. E-scooters should not be stored in nor should be plugged into a power source when temperatures are below 32°F (0°C) or above 113°F (45°C)"

Charging Port

Depending on the model of the e-scooter, the charging port is either located at the front of the footboard on the lefthand side or on near the bottom of the neck either at the middle-top.

Indicator Lights on Power Supply

The indication lights on the power supplies show if the e-scooter is charged or charging. You can see the battery percentage of each captive e-scooter by going to Menu > MY TASKS

Keeping e-scooters Safe While Charging

We highly recommend Chargers to find a safe place within their residence to charge e-scooters. The ideal place to charge e-scooter is in an enclosed garage on a clean concrete surface. Please avoid charging e-scooters on carpeted surfaces.

Safety Requirements

You will be responsible for (or assume the risk of not) having a certified electrician review and approve your location for safely charging e-scooters before you start charging. To avoid any fire hazards, do not overload any electrical circuit while charging an e-scooter and provide reasonable spacing and ventilation of e-scooters while charging to prevent overheating of the e-scooter and Power Kits.

Power Supplies

Chargers will have to purchase new power supplies if they are damaged, lost, or stolen. If you are interested in more power supplies, you can purchase a 3 pack here: Buy Power Supplies (hyperlink).

How to Release e-scooters
Releasing e-scooters

The last step before you get paid for charging is releasing your fully-charged e-scooters at a BRiZ Hub. When you release e-scooters into a BRiZ Hub at 100% battery between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., you will be paid the full quoted price for each e-scooter. Any e-scooters released later than 7 a.m., or with less than 95% battery, are at risk for a reduced payout. Should you hold onto an e-scooter for longer than 24 hours, it may disappear from your MY TASKS view and may be obliterated from your earnings. Same-day payments will only be available for e-scooters released before 7 a.m. the morning after charging. E-scooters that are released after 7 a.m. will be paid out the following business day and may be subject to penalties up to 50%.

What is BRiZ Hub?

BRiZ Hub is a designated release spot for you to release your e-scooters. BRiZ Hubs are in locations that ensure e-scooters are easily accessible to Riders. It’s critical that BRiZ Hubs never block pedestrian right-of-way and/or any access points (doors, ramps, stairs, gates, etc.). You’ll see a map with circular icons, each containing a number. The icons mark the locations of BRiZ Hubs, and the numbers represent the number of e-scooters available to be released in each specific BRiZ Hub. Once a BRiZ Hub is full, it will no longer appear on the map.

Selecting a BRiZ Hub

When you’ve selected a BRiZ Hub, tap its icon. Three options will appear: Navigate to BRiZ Hub, BRiZ Hub Details and Release.

Claim a BRiZ Hub

Chargers can claim a BRiZ Hub by tapping CLAIM BRiZ HUB in the BRiZ app, which will reserve a BRiZ Hub for 30 minutes. If e-scooters are not released at the BRiZ Hub location after 30 minutes, it will expire and reappear on the Charger Map for others to claim. Reminder: You may only claim one BRiZ Hub at a time.

Navigate to a BRiZ Hub

To get to the BRiZ Hub, tap NAVIGATE and the app will prompt you to open your preferred navigation application (e.g. Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc.).

BRiZ Hub Details

Once you arrive at the BRiZ Hub, tap MORE DETAILS. You’ll see a picture of the exact BRiZ Hub location, the street address of the BRiZ Hub, and notes describing any directions for releasing your e-scooters at that BRiZ Hub. Place your e-scooters exactly as they appear in the photo. Once they’re positioned, tap SCAN TO RELEASE.

Releasing e-scooters: Do’s and Don’t s

DO

  • Avoid releasing e-scooters anywhere blocking the public right of way: sidewalks, driveways, and entrances;
  • Release e-scooters close to the curb perpendicular to the street if the sidewalk is wide enough for pedestrian access;
  • If there is not enough space on the curbside, release e-scooters parallel to the street to avoid blocking sidewalks;
  • Release on dirt so long as the terrain is even, and won’t cause e-scooters to tip over;
  • Release on manhole coverings if sidewalks are narrow;
  • Park neatly, lining up all e-scooters facing the same direction with the handlebars turned to the left;
DO NOT
  • Block sidewalks, impeding pedestrian right of way;
  • Block private ramps, driveways, or parking lots;
  • Block fire hydrants;
  • Block any disability access areas, including handicap parking and blue curbs;
  • Release e-scooters on uneven terrain, causing e-scooters to tip over;
  • Release e-scooters messily;
  • Once you’ve parked your e-scooters, step back about 3-6 meters away from the BRiZ Hub and take a picture of your e-scooters so they can be reviewed. The photo should be vertical to include all e-scooters as well as the surrounding environment.

Selecting e-scooters to Release

Tap RELEASE to scan the e-scooters you’d like to release. After selecting the e-scooters, tap RELEASE in the top right corner of your screen.

Photo Confirmation

The last step of the release process is taking a picture of your e-scooters in the BRiZ Hun. Please make sure the photo shows all e-scooters currently in the BRiZ Hub. As soon as the photo has uploaded, you’re officially done! As long as you’ve released your e-scooters before 6 a.m - 7 a.m. the morning after charging, you’ll be paid the same day. E-scooters that are released after 7 a.m. will be paid out the following business day and may be subject to penalties up to 50%.

Trouble Releasing my e-scooter(s)

If you encounter an issue with releasing your e-scooter(s) at a BRiZ Hub, please leave the e-scooter in the BRiZ Hub location, submit a ticket using our in-app Customer service feature, and provide us with the following:

  • A quick explanation of the issue + screenshot of the error message that is stopping you from releasing your e-scooter(s);
  • A screenshot of your Release e-scooters page verifying your location, not the BRiZ Hub address;
  • E-scooter IDs that need to be released;
  • A photo of the same e-scooters in the BRiZ Hub where you left them;

Note: If you do not provide all requested documentation, we will not credit your account.

Safety Tips
Safety Tips

One of our top priorities at BRiZ is the safety of our Chargers and community. This article will cover some helpful safety tips that you should always keep in mind when capturing, charging, and releasing e-scooters!

Capturing and Releasing e-scooters

  • Follow traffic laws when capturing and releasing e-scooters, whether you are doing so by foot, e-scooter, or car. Keep in mind that if you get pulled over for violating a traffic law while capturing or releasing e-scooters, charging for BRiZ is not a defence;
  • Park respectfully. Do not block public walkways or park in restricted zones in order to capture or release e-scooters;
  • Use Caution at crosswalks and look out for pedestrians, fellow e-scooter riders, and cyclists, among others;
  • Do not trespass or enter any private or public property without authorization;
  • Avoid confrontation and respect others in the Charger community.

E-scooters Submerged in Water.

If you come across an e-scooter that is submerged in water (or that you suspect has been submerged in water at any point), do not touch or attempt to capture this e-scooter. Instead, immediately report it to us using our in-app Customer service feature along with the location of the e-scooter and a picture. We will have someone from our team retrieve the e-scooter.

  • Do NOT attempt to charge an e-scooter that has been submerged in water.
  • If it has been raining outside, please make sure that the e-scooter you have captured is sufficiently dry before attempting to charge it.

Charging

  • Make sure you have a safe place to charge. E-scooters are best charged indoors and on a solid hard surface (no carpet).
  • Plug e-scooters into an outlet with adequate electricity output.

While we initiate payments same-day, it may take up to 3 business days for the payment to reflect on your account, depending on your banking institution.

To ensure same-day payment initiation, Chargers must release their e-scooter(s):

1) Between 5AM - 7AM

2) With at least 95% battery upon release

You may experience an issue with your payment if one or both of the requirements above aren’t met. Failure to meet these requirements may result in our system only sending partial pay.

If you released e-scooters on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you may not see the payment until the following Monday to Wednesday. You may also experience a slight delay in payments if e-scooters were released on a holiday/holiday weekend.

BRiZ Showing $0 Credit on my App

If a e-scooter is not registering a charge and appears damaged, this may affect your payment. If this is the case, please submit a ticket using our in-app Customer service feature with the following information:

  • ID(s) of the e-scooter(s) suspected of being damaged
  • A photo of the battery pack when e-scooter is plugged in
  • A screenshot of your TASK LIST showing this e-scooter attempted charge
  • A screenshot of your "Release" e-scooters page showing you are at the BRiZ Hub location
  • A photo of the e-scooter in a BRiZ Hub, along with the address.

After you provide us with the required documentation, we will take a look and issue the appropriate credit.

Methods of Payments

Bank accounts or debit cards are the two forms of payout you can use for your charger profile.

You can use a debit card associated with a major bank or a checking account to receive payment for charging e-scooters. Prepaid cards, gift cards, and any other forms of payment are not accepted.

If you would like to change your preferred method of payment, submit a ticket using our in-app Customer service feature. We will reset your payment information and you will be able to add new payment information to your account.

You will be asked directly in the app to enter new payout information. We urge users to enter banking information (including account number and routing number) as opposed to debit cards. Please make sure to fill out all the required information, and we will get your payments reprocessed.

Viewing Your Earnings

  • View your Earnings by going to Menu > EARNINGS
  • Your Earnings are broken out by day
  • The percentage indicates your percentage of task completed
  • Bonus payments may take up to 7 days to process

Why are there Different Payout Rates?

The price of the e-scooter on the Charger map indicate how difficult the e-scooter will be to locate.

Instead of e-scooters going up in value throughout the night, the capture amounts will now remain the same from the moment e-scooters become available on the charger map.

New Chargers should focus on locating lower rate e-scooter as they are the easiest to find

What is my Current Payment Information?

You can request your payment information by submitting a ticket using our in-app Customer service feature and we will contact you with the current payment information that we have on file.

I Have Not Received my Payment Yet

We process payments via direct deposit same-day for all e-scooters charged and released before 6 a.m. - 7 a.m. Any e-scooters released after 7 a.m will take an extra day to process. While we initiate payments same-day, it may take up to 3 business days for the payment to reflect on your account, depending on your banking institution.

To ensure same-day payment initiation, Chargers must release their e-scooter(s):

1) Between 5 a.m. - 7 a.m.
2) With at least 95% battery upon release

You may experience an issue with your payment if one or both of the requirements above aren’t met. Failure to meet these requirements may result in partial payment.

Payments take between 1-3 days to process and post to your bank account, depending on your bank. If you have not received payment after 3 business days, submit a ticket using our in-app Customer service feature and we will further assist you.

Note: For e-scooter releases on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you may not see the payment post to your bank account until the following Monday - Wednesday. You may also experience a slight delay in payments if e-scooters were released on a holiday/holiday weekend.

I Received Partial Payment for an e-scooter

To ensure full payment for each e-scooter, Chargers must:

1) Release e-scooters between 5 a.m. - 7 a.m.
2) Charge and release e-scooters with at least 95% battery

Failure to meet these requirements may result in partial payment for your e-scooters.

If you believe your partial credit was an error, submit a request into our in-app Customer service feature and we'll be able to assist you.

Charger Pro Tips
Full Power

Before releasing e-scooters, ensure they are charged to 100% under your profile in the menu of your app.

Green means Go

Is your power supply light green? That means your e-scooter is fully charged. Still red? That e-scooter needs more charge.

Right on Time

You can check when your e-scooters are due to be released in the menu of your app.

Don't hold e-scooters for too long.

E-scooters should be released no more than 24 hours after capture unless you've received a message from us asking you to hold onto them.
